End of Life Pet Photoshoots – Celebrating the Love, Not Just the Loss
Gentle, love-filled sessions to capture everlasting memories
Saying goodbye to a beloved fur-family member is one of the hardest things any pet parent can go through. The weight of knowing you only have a few days left can feel overwhelming — and it’s often in those final moments that people think, “I’ve never had professional photos taken of my pet… I don’t want to miss this chance.”
These sessions aren’t about sadness — they’re about celebration. 🐶💛
At ME Pet Photography, we understand just how emotional this time can be. While we always recommend booking a session earlier in your pet’s life—when they’re full of energy and at their best—we also know that sometimes the idea simply doesn’t cross your mind until the very end. And that’s okay.
That’s why we keep one day each week free specifically for last-minute End of Life sessions. These sessions are never rushed and are tailored to your pet’s comfort and your wishes. Whether you want soft, gentle portraits or a joyful celebration of your pet’s unique quirks, we’re here to help create everlasting memories you’ll treasure long after they’re gone.
Even if your pet has recently had surgery, with shaved patches or bandages, we can carefully retouch those areas to help them look their best. We’ve done this many times, so you can focus on spending your remaining time with them, knowing we’ll take care of the rest.
Real Stories. Real Bonds. Real Memories. 🐕🐈
Maki the Sharpei
Maki’s mum originally reached out to book a session for her two Sharpeis — Maki and Ninja — a few months down the line, hoping Maki’s fur would regrow after surgery. But just one week later, she called in tears: Maki’s health had suddenly declined and she was told she had only days left.
Because we specifically reserve time for last-minute sessions, we were able to step in immediately. Despite Maki’s bandages and missing fur, the photoshoot went ahead — full of gentle cuddles and the calm love between the two dogs. We retouched the images to remove the visible signs of her illness, leaving only the beauty behind. A few days later, Maki passed. Her portrait now hangs proudly in her home — a daily reminder of her life, her strength, and her bond with Ninja.
Tilly the Cat
Tilly’s owner reached out after being told she only had a few days left with her beloved feline. During our phone call, she shared her wish: to capture Tilly in her favourite spots around the house and balcony. We arrived that Sunday and photographed her in her everyday environment—calm, loved, and completely herself. Her personality shone through, and her owner now treasures the artwork that keeps her memory close.
Compassionate, Patient and Always Ready
Whether your dog is recovering from surgery, or your senior cat needs time to settle into the shoot, we adapt to what your pet needs. Worried about shaved spots or medical equipment? We’ve got that covered — literally. We can gently retouch photos to restore your pet’s natural beauty.
As a Brisbane photographer specialising in dog photography and all things furry, we’ve had the honour of working with families during their most tender moments. While we encourage people to book photo sessions earlier in their pet’s life — when they’re playful and full of energy — we also know life doesn’t always follow a script.
And that’s okay.
If time is short, we’re still here to create something special — something that lasts long after the final goodbye.
Let’s create something meaningful 🐾
Whether your pet is still full of beans or slowing down with age, now is always the right time to capture their spirit. Don’t wait for the final days—though if that’s where you’re at, we’re here for you too.
Let’s create something beautiful together—something that lasts fur-ever. 🐶🐾
